NOTE: The Federal Communications Commission strictly governs the usage of the radio spectrum, which of course includes the AM and FM broadcast bands. On AM, the rules allow one-tenth of a watt to be used without a broadcast license, as long as the transmitting antenna does not exceed roughly 10 feet and the operation does not interfere with licensed services.
